UFC light heavyweight fighters Glover Teixeira and Misha Cirkunov will square off in the return of the Octagon to Sao Paulo, Brazil on October 28th, according to an announcement on Saturday night’s UFC broadcast.
Teixeira (26-6, 9-4 UFC) is coming off of a loss to fellow contender Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC Stockholm in May. Teixeira is a veteran of the UFC, who has faced many key opponents throughout his career, including current champion Jon Jones, Anthony Johnson, and Ovince Saint Preux.
As for Cirkunov (13-3, 4-1 UFC), he is looking to bounce back from his first loss in his UFC career to Volkan Oezdemir also at UFC Stockholm in May. Cirkunov made his UFC debut in August of 2015, winning four straight fights against Daniel Jolly, Alex Nicholson, Ion Cutelaba, and Nikita Krylov, before his loss to Oezdemir.
The fight will take place on Saturday, October 28th in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The main event of the card has not yet been determined.
